ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF FUTURE TECHNOLOGY

The Faculty of Science and Health, Computer Science Study Program at An Nuur University organized a National Seminar titled “Artificial Intelligence in the Development of Future Technology” on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. The purpose of this seminar was to open up new insights into the important role of artificial intelligence in the future.
The speaker at this seminar was Dr. Richardus Anggi Pramunendar, S.Kom., M.Cs, a lecturer in Information Technology at Dian Nuswantoro University. In his presentation, he explained the importance of artificial intelligence in the future, as more and more digital products have been embedded with artificial intelligence to help solve problems in real-time. Artificial intelligence greatly assists humans, as every human thought is embedded in the system being used.

Many artificial intelligence systems are embedded in various fields, including healthcare, agriculture, heavy equipment manufacturing, and more. One example is Chat GPT, a type of AI that is currently widely used by counseling service providers. Chat GPT is useful for people in need, for instance, someone tasked with coding can get the answers they seek with Chat GPT. However, for an IT Programmer, over-reliance on Chat GPT is not ideal because a programmer must fully understand every step in creating a system. Therefore, it is not recommended to always use Chat GPT to ensure that an IT Programmer's understanding of the system they build does not face issues in case of troubleshooting.

With the combination of these factors, the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology in the future is predicted to continue to increase significantly. The potential of AI to process large data sets, understand context, and make intelligent decisions in various industrial sectors marks a new era where artificial intelligence will become an integral part of technological progress and innovation. Along this journey, challenges and ethical considerations will also become important aspects that must be addressed to ensure the positive and sustainable use of AI for the global community.
